History

How it Started:After graduating from University of Pennsylvania and finishing off our days as competitive athletes, many of us missed the sport and the reward it has given us throughout our lives. Not long after, an email chain between some former Penn tennis team members sparked overwhelming interest to possibly start a non-profit geared towards providing opportunities to less fortunate children. With many goals, ideas, motivations, and passion between all of us, the only thing we could do wasthink BIG. We all had our visions and our dreams. We believed that we could start something that could truly make a difference for many children. As former college athletes, it was no surprise that we decided todream big andbelieve big. That left us at our next step;think big. As we continue to pull our ideas together, we focus on the various ways we can turn our visions into reality. Our biggest challenge is to develop effective initiatives that will help us reach our end goal.

Note from the Founder:

Why Dream Big, Believe Big, and Think Big?

As a child, I was introduced to a motivational book written by Dr. David Joseph Schwartz called, "The Magic of Thinking Big." This book inspired me at the age of 12 when I set out to compete in my first of many national tennis tournaments throughout the United States. It inspired me again in college as a Division I varsity tennis player. The motto,"THINK BIG, DREAM BIG, BELIEVE BIG,"was adopted by my entire team my sophomore year as our motivational slogan, which branched off from the "think big and believe big" aspect of this book.It inspired me again in college when I faced job interviews and began tackling my life career. I bought this book as a gift for the Managing Director I worked for after finishing my summer internship positionin 2004. Yet again, it has inspired me to go BIG when it comes to my passion for children. I want and hope that I can offer at least a glimpse of this inspiration that has helped me achieve more than I have ever dreamed possible, so that others can one day turn their dreams and hopes into reality too. My greatest hope for this organization is that many more children have the opportunity to be inspired as I once was (and continue to be to this day) by the power of belief.
